I once went on a job interview at a car dealership for a sales position. The GM told me that he didn't hire women. I told him, "then this is where I want to work!" So, he hired me. I ended up being their number one sales person and when I quit the same GM told me I had a job there any time I wanted it.

My point? To overcome obstacles is a feeling of elation and joy.
